Please be aware that the animal it shows is randomized every time the page is refreshed, because I don't have a convenient number to use within the range of the array. bushwah replied to my post in addme_fandom and at the beginning of their comment said, "Naruto canon is a fairly typical child soldier comedy from what I've seen, but the fandom somehow manages to crank out absurd amounts of quality content on all kinds of themes. What do you do in Naruto fandom?"

This question ate my brain because I parsed the question as a general "you" as in "What do you do in your part of the Naruto fandom, and why?" and I realized my full thought process was probably too long to just throw up in an unrelated community. Also, I wanted to see if I could entice some comments from other folks on the subject, since my part of the Naruto fandom is by no means representative.

So, what do you do in the Naruto fandom? What do you think we, the fandom, do in general, and how has it changed?

I would especially love to hear from the pro-Kishimoto/pro-Naruto ending/pro-Boruto side of things, as I know basically nothing about that. Why do you feel the way you do?

It looks like wafflelate  has already beaten me to it, but look, with tumblr starting its slow implosion, that means I need to go somewhere else for my fannish needs, and this is the only halfway recent comm on dreamwidth for Naruto, so I'm going to yank this thing from the ashes with everything I've got. I hope some of you are left and still paying attention.

For starters, I'm theroadkillcafe, or Roadkill. I've been in fandom since at least 2003, and Naruto specifically since I don't know when. At least ten years. My favorite character to write about is Haruno Sakura, but I like or am ambivalent about most characters in the series. I write everything from PWP of varying levels of kink to multi chapter plotty fics. Other fandoms for me include Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, MCU, Supernatural, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and more.

I don't know what else to include at the moment, but feel free to check out my journal. I will post about real life stuff, Naruto (fics and more meta-ish stuff), other fandoms and fannish things, knitting, and linguistics (particularly Japanese linguistics). At some point I'm going to start including posts of my own fics here, just to keep reminding you guys that this place exists and to get some chatter going again.

All of Hatake Sakumo’s dogs had been white, most of them big and fluffy. Sakumo — who’d died before Pakkun was even old enough to speak — had had one specialized tracker, three combat-specialized dogs, and one dog that could do either but was also suited for carrying messages over long distances.

The humans had called him White Fang, and when Pakkun was a pup those white dogs had lolled in the grasses of home and talked about how strong their human was, how fierce, how loyal. Thrilling stories, like myth and legend, and none of them had ever, ever wanted to talk about how Hatake Sakumo died.

“Kakashi’s my summoner now, so I have to know,” Pakkun had eventually argued, hardly realizing at the time that he was even more of a child than Kakashi, unblooded and idealistic. He had not been deterred by offers to play, by friendly roughhousing, by the oft-stated promise that knowledge would come with time. “Some things can’t wait,” he’d told Sakumo’s pack.
